We work with communities that face poverty, geographic or political isolation, or lack of support, making it difficult for them to meet their basic needs on their own.
Basic needs
Basic needs include access to clean water, food, shelter, hygiene, basic healthcare, economic security, and education.
Support
We develop and implement solutions together with communities and in collaboration with local authorities, ensuring that interventions are practical, culturally appropriate, and sustainable.
Our Approach
Local Collaboration
All projects are planned and carried out in close partnership with the communities they serve. We respect local laws, cultural practices, and the political context while remaining neutral. Responsibility for the infrastructure rests with the community and local authorities, ensuring ownership from the start. Local partner organizations may also be involved to strengthen impact.
Sustainability
Sustainability is embedded in every stage of our work — from planning and implementation to handover and maintenance. We design projects for long-term use, monitor outcomes, and document progress to ensure lasting impact.
Reproducible Projects
We strive to develop solutions that can be replicated elsewhere and openly share our experiences — including challenges and lessons learned — so that others can benefit from our work.
Volunteering
Our members and project teams contribute on a voluntary basis, bringing time, expertise, and dedication to every initiative.
Financing & Transparency
Our projects are primarily financed through project-based fundraising. We place great importance on efficiency and transparency — detailed financial and project information is available upon request.
Motivation
We recognize that we live under privileged circumstances—free from basic hardship and in a stable, secure environment. We benefit from good education and a guaranteed standard of living, which is built upon a system that often takes from the less privileged. That is why we are committed to promoting global justice and giving back to people and communities in need.
As an organization, we strive to make knowledge accessible to those who need it most. We embrace our responsibility as global citizens and aim, through our work, to create meaningful positive change for people in isolated communities. In the process, we grow personally, learn to overcome new and unfamiliar challenges, gain valuable experience, and build friendships through cultural exchange.
Additionally, we seek to raise awareness among the Swiss population about the opportunities and far-reaching impact of engineering work in developing countries and regions with limited infrastructure.
Our Expertise
Planning and Implementation of Infrastructure Projects
We offer a broad range of engineering and development expertise, and for each project we assemble the right specialists based on community needs and project goals. Our work typically covers buildings (such as schools, housing, and clinics), bridges, water supply and sanitation, energy, and education initiatives.
We support communities throughout the full project cycle — from needs assessment and planning to technical design, implementation, and local capacity strengthening.
Supporting Operation and Maintenance
In addition to implementation, we provide support for the operation and maintenance of new and existing infrastructure
Educational Projects
We support and organize educational initiatives both in Switzerland for our members and abroad in collaboration with partner organizations. Our goal is to promote knowledge exchange and capacity building. These activities include training sessions at local schools, study trips, and workshops.
Project Fundraising
We assist in securing funding to cover project costs through targeted fundraising efforts.
Contributing Technical Expertise
IngOG⁺ brings extensive engineering expertise to projects, applying strategically to ensure their successful implementation.
