Water for IAPS (Ilkeek Aare Primary School, Kenya)

Together with the Lions Club Münster-Landois and Lions Club Thika Chania Falls, Maasai parents built a school with an integrated boarding school.

As semi-nomads, school children had to walk up to 30 kilometers with their parents during the dry season to find food for their herds. The transition of the IAPS into a boarding school, allows the children to stay in school when their parents continue to move. This allows the children to study throughout the year at the boarding school and successfully complete their final exams.

However, the local drinking water supply limits the operation of the boarding school. During the months with little rainfall, additional water is needed to supply the boarding school.
This need can be met by connecting to a primary water supply pipeline, which is currently under construction, or by implementing rainwater harvesting.

IngOG+ supports this project with engineering services for planning and implementation.

This project is in the phase “Concept”.
This means that the holistic approach to the water supply is being worked out and detailed out already in detail.
