FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How does onboarding work? What are the next steps after I join as a member?
Once you join IngOG+, getting started is simple and flexible:
- Attend an Open Project Group Meeting (PGM): These meetings are designed for new members. You’ll receive an overview of IngOG+, learn about ongoing projects, our communication channels and get an idea how we structure our work and teams.
- Explore Other Meetings: If you miss an Open Meeting, join a Workshop or Project Update session to dive deeper into specific projects.
- Get Involved: Share your interest in a project during a PG meeting. You can also contribute beyond projects by supporting communication, IT, social media, or other teams.
We provide all the tools you need to stay connected, including Slack for communication, Slab for documents, and OneDrive for project resources once you join a PGM.
How much time do I need to invest to become an active member of IngOG+?
- Active Project Members: If you join a project group as an active member, the success of the project directly depends on the time you contribute. Projects often take months—or years—to complete. Don’t worry, you are not alone—a whole team supports you, and responsibilities are shared. Active involvement requires consistent participation and commitment, but it is also incredibly rewarding as you see the project make an impact.
- Flexible Participation as active member: If your time is limited, there are many other ways to contribute. You can support communication, social media, IT, or other tasks, which allow you to add value without a long-term project commitment.
What specialization fields are you looking for?
IngOG+ projects benefit from a wide range of expertise. Some examples include:
- Engineering and technical solutions
- Education and training
- Project management and logistics
- Communication, social media, and IT support
- Cultural and language knowledge
That said, IngOG+ is open to anyone with motivation, time, and interest to contribute. Even if your background is not listed here, your skills and perspective can make a meaningful difference.
Can I contribute even if I’m not available full-time?
Absolutely! IngOG+ is designed for flexible engagement.
- You choose when and how to contribute.
- Whether it’s a single task, advisory input, or long-term project involvement, your contribution is valuable.
How can I stay updated on projects and activities?
We use several platforms to keep members informed:
- Slack: Main platform for communication, updates, and coordination.
- Slab & OneDrive: For important documents and resources.
- Project Group Meetings: Monthly meetings provide project updates and opportunities to engage.
